UPDATE #2 11/4/2022Adding a star back. If your car has a vertical vent like mine, then this standard clip will not work. In fact, if you have one of the larger phones in the market like I do, with a case on it, I recommend going with the other clip linked below. That simply did not work for me. The stars are also for customer service, they reached out to me based on my negative review and I am now a happy customer.The quick charger function and aesthetics of the unit are great.I also mentioned in the original review how sensitive the button is that controls the auto clamp. The vendor sent me a replacement and the new unit requires me to hold that button for half a second before it releases the phone. It's so much better, now I can move the mount from horizontal to vertical and back without the clamp opening and the phone falling out.*** Original Review below ***I'm using this mount with a S22+ in a Spiegen case, so it's probably the biggest and heaviest phone in the market today aside from the Z Fold. I replaced a magnet holder with this mount. I've been using the mount for a little over a week.First impression: I plugged it in out of the box and tried putting my phone in it. The arms clamped the phone and released properly using the buttons. Mostly it worked as it should. The arms feel flimsy since they're plastic, but the padding on the side arms work well to grip the phone. The bottom arm does not have the padding.Installation: It took some work to get the mount setup in the car. My car's vent is vertical, I think this would be much easier to install on horizontal vent. I got it to sit right eventually. After getting it on the vent i did a few test runs. The left arm wouldn't close onto the phone. I forced the arm close. This happened twice, but since then I've been using it for over a week and it closed each time. So no harm done.The wireless charging is great. At 15w it seems to be using quick charge speeds, but I can't confirm this. I haven't paid close enough attention to the charging speed. But it's nice to place the phone in this thing and not worry about plugging it in.I did run into somewhat of an issue. The mount is installed to have the phone sit in it vertically, but you can "spin" it sideways so the phone is sitting horizontally. The mount and charger portion of this unit is sitting on a swivel, so it looks to be made for this. But when I try to move it to the horizontal position, the arms holding the phone open/release even though I'm not touching the two buttons behind the arms. I tried this with two hands to make sure I'm not getting close to the buttons and the arms opened each time. It seems touching the arms or any squeezing motion to the arms will tell it to release the phone. Each time i move it I have to take the phone out of the mount and put it back to have the arms close again. Maybe there is a trick to this and I assume i can press the buttons to have it close, but it's very annoying.It's a great mount and if you never need to move the phone from horizontal to vertical and back like I do, then you can't go wrong. I am worried about any products like this that have moving parts, so I'll update if anything changes over the next few months.Update #1 8/28/2022: taking a star off. The leg that supports the weight of this unit sdoes not lock into place. Hitting any bump on the road will get it to fall forward because that leg gives way. I'm constantly pushing it back into place multiple times during a drive, not at all ideal. The leg is made to be adjustable, but no way it should be so easy for it to move like this.
